From SLM News Blog:
2:20 PM (10 hours ago)Has the US government registered private weapons in South Carolina?from SLMNews Blog by Pat H.The answer is maybe. We do know that Fort Hood, Texas, a huge military installation at which I spent many months flying over and driving around, has begun to determine if soldiers living off post own any firearms, and if so, have begun to place them on a watch list.
Told by Texas National Guardsman and regular contributor to Vdare.com, Alan Wall, a Texas resident and native, it's difficult to tell if this is a test case, or the beginning of a new program to identify gun owners within the military, which would, of course, carry over when a soldier leaves the US government's military.
U.S. Army registers soldiers private weapons.
This is of concern here in South Carolina because, unfortunately, we have both many South Carolina natives in the military today, a fact that causes me great sadness; and we have tens of thousands of US government military personnel stationed within our sovereign borders.
This from a government that has called former service members potential terrorists that must be watched closely.
We do not want, do not need, and cannot accept any firearms registration within our sovereign territory; military installations notwithstanding.
