Boehner Makes His First Move to Repeal ObamaCare

And the chains are experiencing stress. A new attack on ObamaCare is coming from the inside of Capitol Hill. As abcnews.com reports:





Speaker-in-waiting John Boehner, R-Ohio, filed an amicus brief Tuesday challenging the constitutionality of the individual mandate in the health care law passed by Democrats earlier this year.





The report then proceeds to quote Boehner himself:





"ObamaCare is a job-killer, and our economy simply cannot afford this unprecedented, unconstitutional power grab by the federal government," Boehner stated Tuesday evening. "That is why Republicans will continue standing with the American people and fighting to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with better solutions put forth in the Pledge to America to lower health care costs and protect American jobs."





This is a great development on Capitol Hill. The recently concluded elections was a clear sign from the voters that they overwhelmingly reject Pres. Barack Obama's far Left agenda and seeks the repeal of his regime's most dastardly manifestations, most awful of which is ObamaCare.



Boehner is moving in the Right direction and should keep moving that way. We've seen too many GOP politicians talk a tough game only to balk and become one of them compromisers. The American people are in a good position right now to see the GOP follow through with the principles they claimed to have during the campaign season, because if the Republicans balk and fail to push the mandate that was given to them by the American people, you can expect the Tea Party to go for their necks for it.



Besides if the Republicans have any brains or understand any semblance of rational self-interest they would follow through on their pledge to repeal ObamaCare. Other than the fact that it's the Right thing to do, it is also in the GOP's interest to actually accomplish something that's actually based on limited government principles rather than the "accomplishments" they had a few years ago, which consisted of big government bills that were indiscernible from legislation put forward by the statists they claimed to hate.



Boehner's off to a great and promising start. Let's hope he takes the principles that got him and his fellow Republicans in office to heart. If Boehner and the Republican can be steadfast in honoring the will of the American people, then America will see its days of prosperity and wealth back real soon.
