League Of The South Statment On U.S. District Court Ruling On ObamaCare

From the League of the South:

League of the South Statement

Re: Richmond U.S. District Court ruling on ObamaCare

On Monday, 13 December 2010, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Richmond, Virginia, ruled that the requirement mandating that individuals purchase health insurance found in President Barack Obama’s health-care legislation goes beyond Congress’s powers to regulate interstate commerce.

Today, the Obama regime has appealed the ruling.

The League of the South believes the case will ultimately be decided in the US Supreme Court in favor of the Obama regime. "That is what happens," said League President Michael Hill, "when you have a government that has been allowed free reign under the Commerce Clause. Washington, DC, gets used to doing as it pleases when it pleases. The federal courts have been unwilling in most cases to stop such abuses of power."

It is the League's considered opinion that the States ought to call their respective legislatures into special session, if necessary, and prepare to invoke the powers of nullification, interposition, and secession to protect their citizens from an unjust and immoral act by the federal government
